Modern Leather Goods is the only authorized Luggage repair center in New York City. That should tell you something in itself.
We are authorized by, Andiamo, Boyt, Brics, Briggs & Riley, Delsey, Genius Pack, Hartmann, Lipault, Pathfinder, Samsonite, Travelpro, Tumi, and Victorinox(Swiss Army).
What does authorized mean? It means if you want your suitcase repaired under the manufacturer's warranty we are the only repair center you are allowed to bring it to. How do you become authorized? You spend many years doing many repairs, satisfying customers, doing the highest quality of work until the manufacturer realizes they trust you with their brand.
Modern revolutionized the luggage repair industry 20 years ago by introducing while you wait luggage repair. All luggage brought in to Modern for repair will be done while you wait unless we need to order a part or we are waiting on manufacturers' approval. If that happens the case will be sent back to you upon completion free of charge.
How do you know if your item is under warranty? The best thing to do is to bring it in so one of the owners can evaluate it for you. There are many different factors, age of the case, type of damage and every manufacturer is different. Brics and Hartmann you must have a sales receipt showing the item is less than 5 years old. All other cases simply bring it in.
Everything we need to know is in the case. We are also recommended by many other Luggage companies. Modern can fix or replace trolley and carry handles, fix zippers or replace an entire zipper, change wheels, and locks.
If you have locked yourself out of your case we can pick it for you and reset the combo to whatever you want without damaging the lock. Stitching of all kinds is no problem.
